Throwback Thursday

What better way to get this feature started than by throwing out an oldie but a goodie. This is an excerpt from the original interview as conducted by Miss Evelyn Jo on Feb 10, 2016. So many things have changed; we have a new logo, a new website and a few things going on behind the curtains that we have yet to reveal... but a few things are still very constant.

We are still a group of strong women who inspire, motivate and educate those around us.

So without further ado, here is an excerpt from the interview. Please follow the link for the complete piece.

Keep an eye out on this space for we shall hear a lot more from Miss Evelyn Jo, our fabulous Global Ambassador, in the near future.

What or who was your inspiration to start D4D?

It all started with a small group of pinups, rat rods, photography & a calendar designed to support a non-profit organization called the Pilchuck Hot Rod Academy. We wanted to inspire, motivate & educate the world around us.

What is your proudest moment to do with D4D?

Once I became president I had a vision to mold our club into something more than just for pinup models, but for role models of every kind. If you are a role model and believe in integrity, trust, honesty and respect, then you’re one of us, a dame with a dream of a better world. My proudest moment is when I realized that I was creating a space for women to belong to that had purpose. We are developing a place between Girl Scouts and the Red Hats Society, where a woman of any age can be educated, mentored, inspired, motivated and empowered to be exactly herself.

What do you look for in a D4D advocate?

She has to be really ready to change the standard idea of women being in competition. We’re a network of strong women who have achieved goals and behave in a way that should be emulated.
